Freebie Friday – Fire Safety Week

Each year, the first full week in October is Fire Safety Week. This is a great time to go over fire safety practices with your young children. We created a free versatile Firefighter Booklet Template for you to use in your studies as well as found a bunch of other great freebies across the internet you might also like.

General Fire Safety:

Smokey for Kids – Smokey the Bear is an iconic staple of fire prevention education. At this site children can learn about Smokey the Bear, campfire rules the importance of protecting our forests and grasslands, play games, design their own coloring book, and write a silly story online. Click the Smokey the Bear icon in the upper left to go to the main site to explore more.

Sparky.org – Sparky the Fire Dog is another icon of fire safety. Kids can watch videos, play games, explore activities to do and much more. Use the "Parents" and "Educators" links at the top right to find even more educational resources including printable information cards, Sparky the Dog Party Kit, lesson plans and so much more.

U.S. Fire Administration – Let's Have Fun With Fire Safety! activity book – This is a direct link to the PDF file (we could not find the original webpage on the FEMA website).

National Fire Prevention Association – We found several pages on this site that provide great material to use in your studies.
